GiveOUT Day 2023

This year as part of GiveOUT Day, we’re fundraising for Queerleaders – LGBTIQA+ Affirming Spaces for Young People Resources!

What is GiveOUT Day?

GiveOUT Day raises funds for LGBTIQA+ organisations, who only receive 5c out of every dollar donated to charities across Australia. All donations made to GiveOUT Day is fund matched by GiveOUT, helping you DOUBLE your impact!

Who are our Queerleaders?

Twenty10’s youth advisory group, Queerleaders, is comprised of a council of inspiring young LGBTIQA+ community leaders. They are working on developing and publishing a free accessible community resource to help young people and youth-centered services understand affirming spaces.

What will developing this resource involve?

This will include co-designed guides on understanding what young people are looking for in LGBTIQA+ safe and affirming spaces, what affirming spaces look and feel like, who should run them, and how should they should be run.

As part of this, our Queerleaders have developed a survey which will be promoted to young people across NSW. And from there, the responses will inform the development of the actual resource.

We will also use the funds for engaging a designer, creating shareable assets, and funding printing and postage to make the resource as accessible at possible to all community services, youth-services, and folks looking to support young LGBTIQA+ people!
