A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of the new Inner West Pride Centre! We had such a wonderful time seeing so many of you – and we can’t wait to hang out with community in this wonderful new space.

A very special thank you to Aunty Deb Lewis for the smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country – we are so fortunate to be able to host the Inner West Pride Centre on beautiful Wangal and Gadigal country. We were blessed to have Peter de Waal there to help us cut the ribbon, as one of the original founders of Phone A Friend, which later became known as the Gay & Lesbian Counselling Service (GLCS NSW).

Thank you also to Inner West Council, Mayor Darcy Byrne and Clr Mat Howard: Labor for Marrickville-Midjuburi, Patrick Abboud and our co-chair Mon Schafter for speaking and welcoming community to this new space. We were also so grateful for the wonderful performances from the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir – Social Group, Mya Soul, DJ Feverbreak, and AJ Stanton that opened the space with the first of many beautiful displays of Pride!
