LGBTIQA+ At School: Communities & Allyship training helps build the capacity of schools and their communities to ensure LGBTIQA+ students and staff feel safe and affirmed. Twenty10 takes a whole-of-school best practice approach to schools training, so support for students and staff is consistent across the whole school community. Affirming communities grow from the executive level, teachers and administration staff, contractors, all students, LGBTIQA+ groups, and parents and citizens groups. Our experienced team of trainers take a facilitation approach that is non-judgmental, trauma-informed, strengths-based, age-appropriate, and supportive of diverse learning styles and knowledge sharing.

Our LGBTIQA+ At School: Communities & Allyship trainings and workshops are as follows. Prices are listed for Private or Independent / Public funded schools. We offer 10% discount for multiple bookings.

Staff & Teachers Training

Our training for school staff focuses on building confidence with language and terminology and connecting teachers with current and relevant Department of Education policy and guidelines, with time for questions. We facilitate this session in an interactive workshop style for groups of up to 40 people. If there are more than 40 participants, the sessions is delivered in a presentation-style.

Student Workshops

Our training for students uses the frame of communities and allyship to emphasise each student’s role in making school a safe place for everyone. We refer to school values, student code of conduct and anti-bullying policy and we speak to these in language that is appropriate for each year level. Twenty10 requests you book a staff training before moving ahead with student training.

In smaller groups, we facilitate this session in a conversational and interactive workshop style. For safety, when presenting to more than 25 students at a time, the session runs more like a presentation.

  • Maximum attendees: 50 students.
  • To ensure content is age appropriate, students should be separated by year group. For smaller schools, this can be a couple of year groups together e.g. 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12.

  3. How to navigate school when exploring your identity as LGBTIQA+
